Interview Patrick Lammer

Patrick Lammer

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I get the greatest pleasure from when I see success rates of my participants improving and getting feedback such as: “Thank you Patrick for helping me to get more customers excited about our product!”

Why are you doing the job you’re doing today?
Because I love elevating people to new performance levels by sharing my experience and demonstrating what I preach in my own work. And because I want “Account Managers” to confidently say, “Yes, my profession is Salesrep!”.

What was the best decision in your professional career?
That I spent three years in Belgium. The challenge of working in an international context and living more than 1,000 km from home has shaped me and greatly broadened my horizon.

What profession did your parents imagine for you?
As far as I know, no particular one. I was fortunate that my parents always supported me during my education and in my professional development. They always respected my decisions.

How often do you look at your phone in a day?
I don’t count. But clearly too often! Modern communication tools bear the risk of distraction. So I have learned to differentiate what information I need to know without delay and which information only steals valuable time because it is irrelevant.

What used to be your favorite subjects in school?
On one hand anything that concerned languages, on the other those that had to do with economics. I never got along too well with highly theoretical subjects, such as abstract maths.

What three things in your life are you most grateful for?
I am most grateful for my health, which enables me to live a self-determined and fulfilling life in the first place. My parents, who raised me to the best of their abilities and gave me many valuable experiences along the way. My son, who inspires me and enriches my life in many ways.

What would you get up for in the middle of the night?
Firstly, for my son – which, fortunately, is not so common today. And secondly, for my international clients who work in a different time zone.

If you could choose a country: Which one would you like to live in?
Clearly: Austria. I am glad to have been born in our beautiful country, with its unique culture and the many nationally and internationally successful companies.

If you could meet a famous personality: Who would it be and why?
Arnold Schwarzenegger. Because he knows how to set goals and achieve them. Because he is well known across generations and has inspired unbelievably many people.
